What equestrian facilities does Kiva offer?
Kiva RV Park & Horse Motel offers comprehensive equestrian facilities including 15 stalls with or without attached runs, 3 pipe corrals measuring 30x60 feet, 2 large corrals (120x120 and 100x90 feet), a 60-foot round pen, and a barn with 4 stalls. Fresh water is available for all equestrian areas. These facilities make Kiva one of the most complete horse motels along the I-25 corridor in New Mexico.
How much does horse boarding cost?
Horse boarding at Kiva is $30 per horse per night for pens and stalls with runs. Box stalls without runs are $40 per horse per night, plus $12 per bale for bedding. What documents do I need to bring for my horse?
All horses staying at Kiva RV Park & Horse Motel must have a current Coggins test and valid health certificates. These documents are required for the safety and health of all animals at the facility. A maximum of 4 horses are allowed per standard pen.
Are trail rides available?
Yes, trail riding opportunities are available in the surrounding area along the Rio Grande Valley. The central New Mexico landscape offers scenic riding terrain with desert vistas, river bosque, and open rangeland. Is Kiva a good base for the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta?
Absolutely. Kiva RV Park is approximately 50 miles south of Balloon Fiesta Park via I-25, making it a quieter, more affordable alternative to Albuquerque-area RV parks during the festival. The drive to the fiesta grounds takes about 50 minutes. Kiva offers a peaceful retreat after a day at the world's largest hot air balloon festival. Book early, as sites fill quickly during the October event.
